"Spotlight on Music" Event to Benefit Summer Camp

The Ladies Philoptochos Society of the Metropolis of Pittsburgh is sponsoring a marvelous evening of music by talented artists of the Metropolis on Saturday,
October 29, 2005, at 7:00 p.m., in the Bellefield Hall of the University of Pittsburgh, in Oakland. The Philoptochos will host a Reception at the nearby St. Nicholas Cathedral, immediately following the performance. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Camp at Mount Tabor.

Emceeing "Spotlight on Music" will be Pittsburgh newspaper columnist and television personality, Yvonne Zanos. She will introduce the instrumental solos and ensembles, as well as vocal soloists and choral groups. You will be entertained with musical selections from the classics to Broadway and jazz. The Byzantine Choir and the Armonia Chorus will celebrate our heritage with Greek songs.

Among the special highlights of the evening will be performances by the world-renowned opera star, Ann Panagulias, and concert pianist, Ted Pandel. These artists were raised in the Metropolis of Pittsburgh.

Each Philoptochos Chapter has received adult tickets to be sold in advance for $ 15.00 each. At the door, student tickets may be purchased for $ 10.00, and adult tickets, for
$ 20.00.

The "Spotlight on Music" Program Book will include ads, as well as biographies of the artists and a special feature about Sylvia Vitsas, former President of the Metropolis of Pittsburgh Philoptochos.
