The mission of the Order of St. Andrew is to defend the Ecumenical Patriarchate, located in Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul, Turkey). Further, the Order is charged to: promote the well-being and advancement of the Patriarchate; preserve the Patriarchate’s important role in the spiritual life of Orthodox Christians; and protect/advance the religious freedom of Christians and all persons of faith.

Archons are distinguished and well-respected leaders/servants of the Orthodox Christian community whose titles are bestowed by His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. There are approximately 40 Archons in the Metropolis of Pittsburgh that are under the direction of Regional Commanders Nicholas J. Tranto and Nicholas E. Terezis.

Archons - The Five Issues

Our Orthodox Faith is being challenged by the Turkish Government. If not addressed, it can lead to the asphyxiation of Orthodox Christians. The Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate are fighting to defend and protect the religious freedoms of our Holy and Great Mother Church.
